Palmarosa Lavender

Here's a wonderfully creamy bar of soap! A blend of several essential oils is added to my favorite olive oil and wheat germ oil recipe. The predominate essential oil is lavender, followed by palmarosa, a dash of sage and geranium, and just barely, just barely a drop of patchouli. The scent that comes through is a tangy rosey lavender, with a woody undertone.

Desert Chaparral

Chaparral (also known as creosote bust) is well known throughout the southwest as a medicinal herb. It is a very rugged evergreen plant that seems to thrive in arid conditions. The Sonoran Desert is full of it, and every time it rains, the creosote bush puts out such a strong scent that we know when it's raining miles away from us. We can smell the rain.

This soap is made with good things from the desert. I added crushed chaparral leaves, making a nice scrubby texture and turning the soap a beautiful dark green/brown color. I used a bit of jojoba oil from the jojoba bush, another well known desert plant. Jojoba produces an oil that our skin loves because it is so close in composition to human skin sebum. And I added wonderful essential oils like sage and rosemary.
